Really, this looks like a clear case of corruption and the whole thing should be investigated fully, though I appreciate that the initial settlement was indeed beneficial, which is a small consolation, I suppose.

It’s honestly just… shocking. Really, the fact that this was identified as part of the overbilling *way* back in 2022, and yet it still happened… and the records prove it, doesn’t that just scream something truly rotten? It makes you wonder what else is going on behind the scenes… just unbelievable.
De Santis is corrupt, big news. Republicans think taxpayers‘ money is their personal slush fund.
It looks like the waste, fraud, and abuse they were looking for was in the room with them the whole time.

Alternatively: If I had a nickel for every Floridian governor that defrauded Medicaid, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it’s happened twice.

FL Republicans love them some medicaid grifting.
Which then sent most of it to two seperate ‘dark money’ organizations that dont disclose how that money is spent.
So laundering fraudulently acquired money.
Her charity is a fake charity anyways. The first year they ‘raised’ nearly $1million and only paid out 5% to various causes.
Also almost all the money it takes in are large donations from people and companies with business before the government, essentially bribing Desantis.
This headline does not tell the whole story. They sent $10M in medicaid to a charity run by his wife, who then gave it to a non profit, who then gave most of it to Desantis as a campaign contribution. So Desantis stole $10M in medicaid money for himself.
We hope they end up in prison both of them for stealing taxpayer money

That is textbook fraud, waste, and abuse.
That money was marked for Medicare use only. If it’s not spent on Medicare it has to go back to the government to be dispersed into other congressionally approved budget items.
If a federal employee who has access to these funds did this they’d be in prison. Both Desantis and his wife should be in prison for this. He has no authority to misuse those funds and she has no authority to use those funds for anything period. Both need prison.

Par for the course. Skeletor, aka Rick Scott, had a company that defrauded medicaid (or maybe it was medicare somehow; I forget), too. Seems a prerequisite for being a GOP governor/senator in Florida is to steal federal medical assistance money.
