The Trump admin seems to be doing a lot of things by mistake. It’s almost like they don’t know wtf they’re doing at all.

Trump admin blinks. Trump about to say he had nothing to do with it and loves Howard.

This is all shit. The Trump administration is simultaneously claiming 4 different stances.

The letter stands, un-retracted by the Trump administration, and is legitimate.

      The letter was a mistake.

      Harvard should negotiate with us.

Harvard is antisemitic and needs immediate intervention by Trump administration, freeze on federal funds.

Fuck the Trump administration clowns. They had their bluff called, now using some bullshit story to shift blame.

      >A senior White House official said the administration stood by the letter, calling the university’s decision to publicly rebuff the administration overblown and blaming Harvard for not continuing discussions.

      >“It was malpractice on the side of Harvard’s lawyers not to pick up the phone and call the members of the antisemitism task force who they had been talking to for weeks,” said May Mailman, the White House senior policy strategist. “Instead, Harvard went on a victimhood campaign.”

Which is it, fuckfaces? Sour grapes.

    4. “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.”

But never rule out malice. And in the trump regime case, also stupidity.

    5. Mistake as in we deported a guy to El Salvador incorrectly or mistake as in we accidentally copied a reporter war plans in a Signal chat?

    6. It wasn’t a mistake.

They just don’t want that crimson smoke.

I promise you if this goes to court, Harvard’s attorneys will run laps around the loyalist clowns at DOJ

Between this and the trade wars, I think it shows if you’re powerful enough – you can simply say „No“ to Trump, and he’ll fold like a cheap suit.

Hopefully it sets off a trend of resistance.

The whole strategy of this administration is to deluge the country with blatantly unconstitutional executive orders, and bank on the judicial system being too slow to react – so that the damage is already done, when the time to rectify comes around.

And to inflict the most pain, they’ll apply some two-bit mobster tactics, hoping that it will scare most into submission.

Another day, another backdown from an administration out way over its skis. Literally happening the same day they are preparing to walk away from Ukraine war negotiations (which were supposed to last a single phone call) because they are getting “too hard” and they have no fucking clue what they are doing.

Accuse the victim of going on a „victimhood campaign“. Everybody knows only the MAGAs can be the victims!

    10. The Trump playbook:

      – Open with an aggressive gambit

      – If there is pushback, provide multiple contradictory responses before giving up while claiming victory

      – If there is no pushback, do a victory dance and humiliate the opponent, then demand more

The lesson: Always push back. Always.

Before Trump, my expectation for Republicans making a mistake is for them to deny they made a mistake and then attack the other side for making it.

Nowadays, it seems the playbook is to admit to the mistake, then deny it, then admit to it, then blame the other side for making it, and admit to it.

There hasn’t been any backing down. They still want to revoke their tax exempt status.

    13. The art of the deal is to bully into compliance. When they call the bluff then flatter them and say it was a joke, but we can still negotiate for what I want after blaming you for the misunderstanding, right?

    14. No fucking way we’re letting this slip. No way you get to hide behind „oopsie“.

You don’t get a mulligan, asshole. This isn’t one of your stupid golf courses.

You and your little „smartest smartass in the room“ creep Steven Miller set out to destroy academia in America. You and Project 2025 have stated your intention to do this repeatedly.

You and your small, incurious, idiot band of intellectual toddlers are going to get exactly what you deserve from the best goddamn lawyers on the planet.

I can’t wait to watch Harvard’s best absolutely decimate you. You will deserve every once of what’s coming.

Why did they even write it If they didn’t intend it?

Why even have the thought that this is even remotely acceptable behavior when you know damn well that it is a total violation of the constitution?

They are lying and I hope Harvard goes after them for violating the constitution and failing his sworn oath to it.

    16. Disbar every single one of these lawyers doing Trump’s bidding here.

American Bar Association, where are you?

    17. Always fight back. Eventually Trump folds and “doesn’t know anything about it”

    18. BrilliantCorner on

They know they aren’t going to win this fight and are trying to save face.

    19. I challenge the MAGA crowd to explain what exactly this administration is doing for regular working class Americans? Since he’s been in office all he’s done is attempt to bully other countries, complain about previous administrations, enact tariffs (which working class Americans will pay for), Attempt to deport anyone with seemingly any connection to other nations, and simp for compliments. I have absolutely no idea how anyone could spin the actions of this administration in a way that makes it seem like their goal is to help regular Americans.

I’m an Atheist so don’t take this the wrong way but… Should there be a task force for just one religion?

Didn’t that m*thefucker tweet about it??? How’s that a mistake??

    22. So you’re saying the Trump administration f’ed up again? How surprising.

    23. Our entire government has turned into a case of That didn’t happen. And if it did, it wasn’t that bad. And if it was, that’s not a big deal. And if it is, that’s not my fault. And if it was, I didn’t mean it. And if I did, you deserved it.
