If it was in freezer then most likely yes

if frozen then yes. Defrost it – check the smell. Might be the case that it „got“ the smell of other things in the freezer. Which is not tasty at all, but should be fine. But anyway – fry it. Do not eat it raw. And eat small amount for a first try and wait couple of hours to see if you are ok.
