elchibey was a puppet of aliyev + an extremist + politically imponent + not sagacious enough for his time
AXCP was a scam! Elchibey was always a supporter of Heydar Aliyev within the AXCP. When the question arose about nominating the AXCP leader for the presidency, Elchibey resisted for a long time, believing that this position rightfully belonged to Aliyev. However, at that time, a new age restriction (65 years) for presidential candidates was introduced at the initiative of Mutalibov, preventing Aliyev from running. As a result, Aliyev needed a trusted figure for the transitional period, and that person turned out to be Elchibey.
More precisely on what Elchibey achieved:
1. the overthrow of the sitting president in a country that had been at war
2. a blow to relations with neighboring states (especially Iran)
3. discord within the army
4. the surrender of Karabakh to the Armenians as a whole (Shusha and all of the NKAO),
5. the beginning of a civil war in Ganja (about a hundred worthy sons of Azerbaijan perished),
6. transfer of power to H.A.
7. escaped Azerbaijan
Also,
1. Elchibey himself repeatedly mentioned in his interviews, including after fleeing Baku, his admiration for Heydar Aliyev’s personality.
2. For example, who supported Elchibey after he left and lived in his village, Kalaki? Do you know? The authorities helped him, and he lacked nothing—even upon his return to Baku. And when Elchibey fell ill and went to Turkey in 2000 for treatment and surgery, our ambassador in Turkey, following Heydar Aliyev’s personal directive, took full control of all matters related to his medical care and financial support. And when Elchibey passed away, Heydar Aliyev went to the AXCP headquarters and took part in the farewell ceremony.
3. When it became known not only that Heydar Aliyev had contacts with the Armenians, but also that he had concluded a secret non-aggression pact with Levon Ter-Petrosyan. At that time, Azerbaijani forces were advancing in Karabakh and were just a few kilometers from Shusha. Suddenly, fresh Armenian troops appeared on the front, shifting the situation in Armenia’s favor. Later, the existence of the pact was revealed, and the Armenians quickly took advantage of it, transferring significant reinforcements from Armenia to Nagorno-Karabakh. In Baku, the non-aggression agreement sparked outrage. Iskander Hamidov publicly threatened to deploy troops in Nakhchivan and arrest Heydar Aliyev for this act. (Interestingly, Aliyev did not forget this threat and later arrested and sentenced Hamidov at the first opportunity.) However, Elchibey and several other leaders from the AXCP, particularly those from the same region, strongly opposed Aliyev’s overthrow or any military intervention in Nakhchivan.

Rasulzade, whose party’s official policies included lands being given to the peasants, education being tuition free, work day being no more than 8 hours. And that’s Musavat, which was less left wing than Hummet, where he used to be before that.
„Don’t thread on me“. Lol. What sort of an ideological salad do you have in your head?
