‚k Snap niet dat je die eieren blijft eten. Da’s toch smaakloos? Die kippen hebben karton gegeten.

People will say „bird flu“ but I think that’s BS. This is a form of price gouging, following US trends. They do it because they can.

Ah so that’s why someone asked me if I knew the price of the eggs I just picked up

Door mijn kassaticketjea gaan: 15 maart: 3,89 euro, 15 februari nog 3,69, 25 januari nog 3,49 inderdaad.

To be fair, €4.19 for a box of 20 eggs isn’t that high for AH given the fact that €1.99 has been the cheapest price tag they have for a box of 6 eggs since mid-2023. I don’t remember nor could find a receipt from before that.

You may try Aldi or Lidl instead. A few weeks ago, there was a discount and we bought one of these big boxes, which was something like €3.49, I think.

Same what happened with our gas and electricity prices. Although there isn’t a shortage, there is nervousness in the marketplace due to international events and this raises the price.

These are „fresh“ eggs, the ones you bought couple of weeks ago were old. That’s why they raised the price.
