The World Central Kitchen (WCK) charity reported that an Israeli airstrike hit one of its food distribution sites on Thursday, resulting in the death of a local volunteer named Jalal and injuring six others. The IDF stated it is investigating the incident and is in communication with WCK. UN agencies have accused Israel of atrocities and forced displacement in Gaza, with Jens Laerke, spokesperson for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, stating that Israel’s actions “bear the hallmarks of atrocity crimes” and demonstrate “a callous disregard for human life and dignity.”
