Summary: Jewish community members in Norway are increasingly afraid to seek medical care due to growing anti-Israel sentiment among healthcare workers.
Many are hiding their identities, fearing substandard treatment, a situation they say hasn’t existed since World War II.
Jewish leaders have urged health authorities to ensure hospitals remain neutral spaces, as some Jewish patients have encountered politically charged environments and medical staff openly supporting Palestinian causes.
The Norwegian government has acknowledged these concerns, emphasizing that all patients should feel safe, but community members remain worried about political influence in healthcare.

Well I can assure you that this is bullshit, not the fear but that they will be unsafe or treated any other way than all others

Has there been any discrimination against Jews or is it paranoia? Most pro Palestinian protests have been led by Jews or had Jewish speakers in Norway.

The article doesn’t present substantiated evidence, though. I’d be interested to see what these „documented concerns“ are to understand if these are actually grounded in reality.

The eternal victims… poor them. The article didn’t give one example of such discrimination.

„Though Dr. Kirschner cited only five or six documented cases of patients sharing these concerns with community leaders, he believes they indicate a broader pattern.“
Because they had pamphlets or flags in their facilities. A concern about not being treated differently, no one actually experiencing treated differently.

This is pretty much paranoia. Some healthcare workers in hospitals have a „not a target“ button that was made after healthcare worker and hospitals in Gaza has been hit by the IDF. It’s been a thing in several hospitals. I wish it was an even more general sentiment behind it (the Russians are doing the same, as are militias in different countries). Some Jewish members of the population have felt like this means they will get sub standard treatment in hospitals etc.
I’d consider the chance of that actually happening to be very, very small, and if it happens they need to report it as the healthcare workers could loose their right to practice as registered nurses etc if they treat anyone differently for religious/political reasons. The rights of patients are extremely strong in Norway, so this should more or less be a non issue. The fact that someone worries it could happen, doesn’t mean it will happen.
