Hallo, letzte Woche habe ich diesen Brief von Finanzamt erhalten. Sie bitten um einen Erhalt meiner elterlichen Zulage (zumindest verstehe ich das).
Aber ich habe nichts als elterliches Zulagen erhalten. Ich habe meinen Job und habe das ganze Jahr gearbeitet.
Ich vermute, ich habe irgendwie einen Fehler in meiner Steuererklärung, den ich Anfang dieses Jahres eingereicht habe (von TaxFix)
Meine Frage ist nun, wie ich auf Finanzamt antworten soll, dass ich keine Quittung habe und nichts erhalten habe. Das Einzige könnte sein, dass dies ein Fehler an meinem Ende oder ihrem Ende ist.

so you didn’t do Elternzeit in 2024? cause that’s what they are asking for. you usually get a letter that tells you exactly how much money they will give you during that time.
if this was part of your tax declaration you should really check what you submitted

The parents of a child get „Elterngeld“ for 12 month after birth.If you are married and you have your Tax together with your wife they need the amount to calculate your tax correctly. Call the number on the letter to clear things up.

You did not ask for any parental allowance yet, right ?
In that case you should have left empty the area about „Elterngeld“ when you did the tax declaration. It seems that you did not, so they are asking a proof of the payment.
If you don’t have and you made a mistake, you have to go to the Finanzamt and explain yourself.
This kind of thing doesn’t necessarily indicate your tax return was wrong. I’d guess they saw you recently had a child, and so they just suspect you might have received Elterngeld.
If you didn’t, then you can just respond and tell them that.
This is definitely a mistake in the tax declaration.
Finanzamt has asked me to provide a receipt for House services in the amount which is the same as my net salary. I checked my declaration and just noticed a mistake – taxfix messed up some lines and i missed the error during checking.

The funny and unexpected thing about the Finanzamt is: You can call them and get answers. They are used to honest mistakes and usually quite nice in dealing with them if you just come forward.
