Ich habe dieses Foto von meinem Großvater geerbt. Er erzählte mir nie von seiner Familie, aber unsere Familie hat lettische Wurzeln von Liepaja. Als Lettland von der UdSSR besetzt wurde, wurde meine Urgroßmutter zuerst nach Russland und dann nach Usbekistan verbannt. Jetzt versuche ich aktiv, zumindest meine entfernten Verwandten zu finden. Damn, it’s blurry, AND in Gothic style!
It’s in German and the first line looks like „Hier liegt in Gott“. What I get from the middle part is „die Familie Wismar“, or something along the lines.
So it’s something like „Here lies the Wismar family, with God“.
