One of the funniest things about Canadian Trump supporters is that they are genuinely insignificant and irrelevant to him. If Trump was anything more than an idiotic narcissist, he’d be aware of his unpopularity in Canada, understand that Poilievre is more aligned with his MAGA agenda/philosophy, and strategically choose to discreetly boost him to further the global movement.
But he’s not, so he hands an easy layup to the Liberals that makes them look like tough negotiators, while vaguely criticizing Poilievre for saying “negative things” which will hurt him among the conservative Trump fans up here. And his thought process doesn’t go further than “negative things.”
Trump thinks Trudeau is a twinky but Carney is made of different stock. For one thing, Carney is still a banker and has not yet learned to be a politician but his decent into the abiss is underway.
