Fries on pizza are *not* a thing here. I’m also kind of amazed ‚Belgian style‘ is a thing, lmao.
Anecdotally, I did once eat pizza *with* fries while at some resort in Greece. It wasn’t horrible, just felt awfully decadent.

This is pretty big in Italy, specially in the south
That’s UK style. Thats is the only place I ever seen that.
I commonly find this in Italian pizzeria.
The fries on pizza is a very common seeing on their menus.
No we have collectively agreed to put fries in a kabab or maybe a pita. But we stop there.

Being a belgian in Finland. I had no idea what the hell that monstrosity was supposed to be. I did not buy it cause that doesn’t appeal me at all.
I did buy the andalouse sauce! Man… so happy. But yeah also that wasn’t the best. But hey, better than no andalouse sauce at all.
rules of thumb if you see something atrocious that ’s called „….“ style odd are , you’ll never find it in that place. hell i’ve never even seen that thing before . the worst i’ve seen is in the UK where they eat pizza with crisps / potato chips

Thats funny. I think if you opened a pizzeria-friterie, with a good beer menu, a nice decor that appeals to the senses, and real Italian pizza you’d make a killing with Italians in this city.

I’ve never seen this before in Belgium, but this is super common in Italy. It’s often coupled with sliced hot dogs and called the „American pizza“.
My family in the north of Italy have it regularly, and have gotten my kids in the habit of ordering it too when we’re there. When in Belgium and they ask for pizza with fries I tell them we don’t do this in Belgium, our fries are too good, they need to be savoured separately, end of story. In Italy they can do what they want with their pale, single-fried fries.

Something that might surprise everyone: Pizza with French fries is very popular in Italy.
I actually saw this a lot in Sardegna, they called it Americana over there.

Ok ok ok. I’m a Belgian that lives in Sweden. The things they do with fries here is abhorrent, among the things I have seen normal Swedes eat are fries with ice cream, where you dip your fries in softijs, or fries on pizza, where they first take a normal pizza, add fries and then squirt over a huge amount of sauce.
That’s ultra common as a topping for kids in Italy, it’s been for decades
Funny .. we do not have that in Belgium. In Italy however you can find it everywhere. Mostly called a ‚pizza Americana‘. I find it disgusting.
Story time:
Ik ben vorig jaar naar Recanati geweest in Italië. We waren daar voor een week in verband met een trouw van een collega van mijn vrouw. De collega Leonardo is een rasechte Italiaan. Alles wat er in België gebeurt in verband met de Italiaanse cuisine zal hij commentaar op hebben.
off topic: Recanati is geen toeristisch plekje, dat is een dorp waar iedereen elkaar kent.
Nu dus, wij in Recanati, gaan eten op een restaurant. En wat zien we? Pizza met frieten.
De dag erna spreek ik hem aan dat zijn commentaar misplaatst is want ze serveren het ook in hartje Italië.
En hij legde uit:
Je mag alles op een pizza plaatsen zolang de bodem de correcte is. Je hebt gebaseerd op tomatensaus en gebaseerd op ricotta met olijfolie. De rode bodem en de witte bodem dus.
Pizza’s met witte bodem mag je dus alles op leggen, het is net omdat het in België op een rode bodem gedaan wordt dat hij zich schaamt.
