Idunno, the forest near me is also being thinned out to stupid levels. No reasoning given behind it, annoying.
No siis leikkikentän rakentaminen kyllä tyhmää jos alue olevinaan luontoa kaupunkiin tuova viheralue. Mutta puut kaadettiin etukäteen tulevaisuutta varten jotta kannot alkavat lahoamaan. Helpottaa poistoa ja vähentää kustannuksia valtavasti.
Edit: Forgot this sub was in English. Building the park in a nice green area is dumb but cutting the trees early is necessary. The stubs will decay which will help with the removal and make the removal much cheaper.
I use to live close by , and i did saw some planning guy noting down numbers and measurment before winter, i thought they were just checking manitnenace for trees or so.. but this turns out to be a thing now.
However i feel its due to new buildings came up in Ainoa campus so obviously a much bigger play area is needed. Just usual selling point for big apartment builders
„Under construction: Tuulimäki playground, ready 2026“. Pretty hard build that in the middle of trees with modern safety rules and such.
They’ll likely replant more trees in the future.
It’s Tapiola. They are always looking for a way to make it look more dull. I’m surprised they didn’t paint everything gray yet.
