      What’s American food? What comes to my mind is those dinners with pancakes and waffles I see on movies.. but I believe I’m mistaken

      Side note:

      This is why when I want cheap food anymore, the only option is Taco Bell. And even there I use the app to get a whole box for 5.99 because their other food is all around $4-$5.

      McDonald’s has gotten out of control.

      It’s weird that “fast food” is a different category when fast food could be pizza, Mexican, burgers, chickens, etc

      The only difference between American food and fast food is whether a waiter/waitress serves you and you’re expected to tip.

      One of the things I like most about Oregon is there are delis in gas stations. Not just sandwiches but pizzas, burritos, sausage on a stick, fried mushrooms. Also even thought is a gas station the food is bomb. Lil Pantry was the shit.

      Most of Nebraska is pink, but there aren’t any fast food joints in most of those counties. Unless you’re counting gas stations as fast food. Some don’t even have that.

      One of the problems with this map has to do with how small some counties are. For example, Johnson county in Illinois has 13,000 people. So if you have 20 restaurants there, and one of them sells frozen yogurt, that’s 5%. The maps suggests that people there might be, like really into yogurt, more so than any other county, which probably isn’t accurate at all. But who knows? I’ve never been there. Maybe it’s true.

      Take fast food out of the running, and this would be a more interesting map.

      mexican food like burritos and tacos was invented in US to cater to tastes that favor bread

      Your telling me there are more BBQ places in Jersey then Pizza places? Have you ever been? I’m a resident here. No way that’s true.

      I can vouch for Grant County in Washington. Stopped in the town of Mattawa for lunch before hiking around some sand dunes near the Columbia River a couple years ago. There are 9 restaurants in town. 8 Mexican and 1 Subway.

      There is no way in hell that Menifee County has more than 25 restaurants. I’d be surprised if there were more than 25 restaurant tables in Menifee County

      Map is BS. Mexican food is far more common than Pizza in Bradley County. There is a gas station with pizza and 1 pizza restaurant.

      There’s probably 10 restaurants in the whole of Ferry county WA so 1 of 10 is a health food restaurant
