    1. I just realized that some Belgians don’t really have to deal with the pain of getting rid of limescale „kalkaanslag“, so unfair. Can Bart fix this pls?

    2. It’s called ice, dummy. You see it a lot when the temperature < 0°C. /s

Water management is a regional responsibility.

I can always ask my friend who maintains and regulates the water treatment process for De Watergroep, if you really want me to

    4. Water in Limburg tastes better! So plz don’t let them bombard it with chemicals to make it softer.

When you go abroad, stay overnight, take a shower and put as much soap as you do in Belgium and can’t control the foam you have just created.

    6. Hello, I work for Pidpa in purification plants. 1 or 2 of our locations had a lot of calcium in the water we pumped up, and they installed an ‚onthardingsinstallatie‘ there. It involved a lot of energy and chemicals to make the water softer and was soon abandoned. They then drilled new wells, which had much less calcium. The old wells still exist and are very rarely used. Only in situations when there is water shortage, like in summer. The bottom line is that ontharden on an industrial scale is very expensive and uses a lot of chemicals, in this case NaOH, or sodium hydroxide.

    7. Our water comes from a water softening plant in Belleghem, so the water is softened. Disadvantage is that it now has a lot of sodium, and I suspect it is killing some of my plants over time.
