      The Oval Office meeting between President Trump and President Zelensky of Ukraine went spectacularly badly.

      The deal on rare earth minerals they had been expecting to confirm was left unsigned and is now in jeopardy. A joint press conference was cancelled and Zelensky left the White House early, at Trump’s request

      Just to remind everyone. The global (!!!) market for rare earth minerals is several billions of dollars per year. The Ukrainian minerals are not even economically viable to extract, let alone in the absurd quantity of 500 billions or whatever the latest number from Trump’s fever dream was. Let’s stop pretending that this topic, raised quite brilliantly by Zelenskyy, is anything else, other than the attempt to give Trump some paper with a large number on it to wave as a victory flag to MAGA voters.

      The orange blimp signs a deal with Russia for all the mineral rights in Ukraine. Then his evil fascist regime will back Russia with weapons.

      Can anyone explain why a mineral deal would help end the war? I don’t understand why Russia cares about the deal, unless Trump was planning on giving Russia some of the money to agree to stop? What is the path or plan to stop the fighting?

      Edit: Also, Trump said „You have no cards,“ but obviously Ukraine has minerals.

      Ukraine should broker a deal with Europe. Rare earth mineral rights for military and economic support.
