„Russian President Vladimir Putin said he is open to offering the US access to rare minerals, including from Russian-occupied Ukraine.

This comes after US President Donald Trump has repeatedly pushed for Ukraine to give up some of its minerals in exchange for support, [in a deal which is currently being finalised, according to a Ukrainian minister](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c20le8jn282o).

In a state TV interview on Monday, Putin said he was ready to „offer“ resources to American partners in joint projects, including mining in Russia’s „new territories“ – a reference to parts of eastern Ukraine that Russia has occupied since launching a full-scale invasion three years ago.“

Why isn’t the news talking about Putin offering Trump Ukraine’s minerals? Clearly a deal has already been struck and the entire Zelenskyy / Trump showdown was Trump’s idea into goading Zelenskyy so Trump could pull out of the deal. This felt like gaslighting 101.

I really hope Trump is playing some super super decade long con here to ultimately weaken Russia and then bay of pigs them with nato. The mineral deal is worth literally pennies and doesn’t move the needle while Russia has literally 75 trillion worth of resources that we could pillage and live off for literally centuries.

This has played right into Putin’s hands.

In exchange for US abandoning Ukraine, Russia keeps the territory it wants and America gets the rare earths they’re after.

Big problem being that Ukraine needs to agree and won’t, this doesn’t change anything just demonstrates how aligned this Trump administration is with the dictator in the Kremlin.

Good, all words of USA officials about WMD should outright associate with Budapest Memorandum and related to it imperialism of TWO „guarantors.“
