So Apple’s big FDA-approved earbuds aren’t replacing full hearing aids yet, but might be soon. Will audiologists exist in the future? Will Apple actually be able to make the AirPods better tot he point where they can be real hearing aids? they’d have to be much less noticeable, I’d imagine.
Gosh I hope so. Old hearing aids and their batteries are so expensive.
I have had hearing aids for about 10 years now. They are in the ear, so not visible. Hell most people don’t even notice them. Plus they are rechargeable, have bluetooth, and are programmable for different situations. Yes they were expensive but they are customized to my hearing loss, and the fact that they have lasted 10 years so far has made them better than any otc hearing aid I’ve ever seen.
AirPod Pro 2 owner here – it would be really nice if the next iteration at least delivered decent sound. How can my 20 yr old Shure buds sound better than AirPod Pro 2?
Amazing if theyre affordable, but need to be more adhered / hidden in the ear like medical ones
I have no hearing in one ear, partial loss in my good ear. My 3-year old Phonak when away for about three weeks to be refurbished. I used the new AirPod Pro as a fill in. The verdict? AirPod Pros were better than nothing. No where near ready to take over from a real hearing aid.
$300 later I got my Phonak back. I can hear again.
