Hallo! Was würden Sie alle empfehlen?

It sounds reasonable
You can survive on that amount. You won’t have any fun though.
What he writes sounds about right for Fribourg. Housing would be more expensive in Geneva or Zurich.
Are you an EU citizen?
On point. It will likely be the case. You wont starve but you wont also have a fancy lifestyle. Once you enter PHd phase, you will somehow get a few thousands of CHF too.
some people living at the train station have more income than that. not even joking.
i dont see how you could survive with that money unless you live at your parents house and they cover most of the costs.
This seems very low budget wise. If it’s Geneva you won’t find rent so low.
Can confirm, his estimate is pretty accurate.
As PhD student I was saving lots of money in Fribourg living in a shared flat. If you are a Master Student I recommend getting an Apartis which is cheaper.
TBH it sounds a bit strange, usually the supervisor will secure funding (according to SNF salaries) and employ you. A normal PhD-salary is more around 3000CHF, so I’d be cautious of that proposal.
