USA, Russland erklärt sich damit einverstanden, diplomatische Missionen als erster Schritt in den Ukraine -Kriegsgesprächen wiederherzustellen

SS: The U.S. and Russia agreed on Tuesday to restore the normal functioning of each other’s diplomatic missions, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said after talks between senior U.S. and Russian officials in Saudi Arabia.
The move appeared to signal a significant easing of restrictions on Russian diplomatic missions in the United States that were imposed by past U.S. administrations over Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine and other Russian actions.

Is it just me or Rubio looked deflated? He just had a negotiation with a war criminal, and was flanked by two Trump loyalists who spoke over him during the press conference.

I thought he was sending some kind of morse code.

So, long story made short: Before there’s going to be any serious peace talks, the US and Russia needs to buddy up.

Russian sanctions soon to be lifted? And what then, will the US start to pressure other countries to lift their sanctions, for the „friendship“ to prosper?

Don’t me wrong, restoring diplomatic ties is one step forward – but I’m just weary that this is a guise for Trump to basically hand Russia what they want, through some backroom deal they made.
