Submission Statement: On Truth Social, the President launched a blistering attack on the Ukrainian President, calling him a „dictator“ responsible for the destruction of his country (without mentioning who attacked first) and also accusing the Ukrainian government of wasting American aid (the quantity he also exaggerates).

Essentially, the President is making an offer Ukraine can’t refuse.

Commentary: I don’t even know where to start here. Everything he says is so wrong. This outburst is likely stemming from Zelensky’s rejection of Trump’s outrageous demand for a controlling interest in Ukraine’s mineral resources… without any security gurantees. These are the words of a Mafia Don, not an American President.

It’s obvious a meeting between the leaders of the #1 and #3 global powers won’t end the war. Unlike Czechoslovakia in 1938, Ukraine will not accept a „peace deal“ negotiated over its head.

Okay, is the US going to guarantee a fair and free election in occupied areas?

Or perhaps Putin put you up to it.

    3. all of the sudden trump just loves elections….hmm, i wonder what changed?

I agree that Ukraine needs to hold elections. But it’s literally in their constitution to not have elections during a war.

I know that following your country’s constitution is a foreign concept to Trump, but currently, Zelensky is definitely doing just that

Call for elections, insist on using Starlink tabulation machines, Russian candidate mysteriously wins

Big words coming from a guy that actively tried to conduct a coup after he lost the 2020 election.

    7. Zelenski is a nuisance. Goodbye. Now something more controllable. The US and Russia have ample experience in this.

So up until today I was really trying to bet that a lot of news was just typical hysteria of news cycles

But these past few hours regarding Ukraine, Russia, and how the US is approaching it really makes me think that the US, at least now publicly, just switched. How off am I? I mean a month ago if you asked me, Trumps mission was to at least support NATO, but make the EU pay their fair share. Now it seems like Trump is just completely on Putins side.

History in real time is wild.

    9. Guys, per the definition of the word, Zelenskyy is a dictator. I don’t fault him for temporarily refraining from elections in the face of a national existential crisis, but it does make him a dictator per the original definition of the word dating back to Ancient Rome.
