That’s presumptuous. There is no way in hell that there aren’t fully Crab-i-fied space faring aliens out there.
So.. panspermia? The idea that the basic building blocks of life are inherent to the universe – as long as a planet has the right temp/light/water/gravity/etc. DNA based life will arise.
I’m a masters level Biogeographer and the Equilibrium Theory of Island Biogeography seems to be highly applicable to such ideas
It’s just a matter of time before we find life outside of the planet and then universe. I think it’ll be quite some time before we find intelligent life. The probability of it existing at the same time and distance of us to observe is likely very low.

Literally every single person I’ve taken a biogeochemistry class with has had the thought that „this could be the norm“.
as for intelligent life: I’m not even convinced yet that there’s intelligent life on Earth.
