    1. i wonder if the CDU has bothered to look at what focusing on immigration does to the political landscape. they don’t have to look far, The dutch centre-right VVD party has firsthand experience right now.

in fact, the VVD has finally realized in the last weeks that a focus on immigration only benefits the party people most associate with anti immigration – the AFD(or in the netherlands the PVV). a bigger focus on immigration only makes the problem look more important, it won’t convince anti-immigrant voters to vote for the knockoff rather than the original.

at least they’re sort of keeping the cordon sanitaire, so perhaps they’re not completely falling into the same trap.

at least these protestors give me hope that germany won’t follow the trends of other countries exactly.

    2. As a German, this makes me think theres still hope. We dont need to be the next country where conservative grabs for power risk everything by working together with rightwing extremists. We know better and we can act accordingly.

Edit: lol vote me down, haters. You nazis wont win.

    3. The immigration issue cannot be ignored though. The longer it’s just ignored the more popular the afd gets.

    4. Well done, friends!

Kick those that scapegoat actual problems on minorities off the political panorama.

I bury my head in the sand, for then to me, the problems no longer exist.

When I raise my head and see a different world, I will blame everyone but me for its change.

Its interesting that people are protesting against a party that is not even ruling party while ruling has done so many bad decisions and nobody is protesting against them. Makes you think who is organizing these protests and who is really affraid.
