Hey, meine Frage ist, was in der allgemeinen Meinung in Armenien über einige der modernen Führer geht, die es hatte. Ich lebe nicht in Armenien, also habe ich nur den Eindruck, den meine Eltern mir gegeben haben.
Zum Beispiel ist Serj Sargsyan gehasst, oder?
Pashinyan wurde zuerst extrem geliebt, als aufgrund der friedlichen Revolution, aber nach den verlorenen Kriegen denke ich, dass die Leute ihn nicht mehr mögen.
Nach dem, was meine Mutter mir erzählte, war das Leben während der Levon Ter-Petroyan wegen der schrecklichen Wirtschaft hart.

I grew to respect LTP more and more over the years. I think he was dealt a very difficult hand and if the environment was better, he would’ve been the best to navigate the troubled waters that came after his presidency.

I feel very optimistic about our future leaders. We have a new generation of politicians <50 years old who have studied abroad and bring modern ideas and have higher expectations and standards. I hope our next PM will be someone young
Robert was the greatest evil for Post-Soviet Armenia. He led the country into authoritarianism, causing us to lose the opportunity to develop economically, which we could have achieved under democracy. As a result, there was a massive emigration from Armenia, with about one-third of the population leaving the country.
I don’t care what people say, but Armenia have never had any better than Nikol. He is also mentally strong I guess, imagine how many petaz people he has dealt with…
Kocharyan is human trash, Serzhik is barely tolerable trash, Levon at first was ok, but got worse, Pashinyan is at C to B- tear now. He can definitely become legendary if he does what’s needed.
They’re all 1000× worse than what we have today and that says a lot
Kocharyan and Sargsyan stand out as being largely apolitical, indifferent, unprincipled, hollow career politicians. They do not represent ideas or ideologies, and the entirety of what they did can be described in terms of procedural power politics. They are self-motivated professionals without any devotion to Armenia or any ideology. They are Soviet.
LTP is a man of considerable intellect and learning, but limited vision and a weak character. He was ahead of his people and foresaw things that would materialise decades later, but he wasn’t able to do anything effectively to actually improve Armenian society beyond the rudiments. All potential and promise that was not delivered on because of a weak character.
Pashinyan is the quintessential Armenian. He could be a metaphor for Armenians. Like Armenians collectively, Pashinyan is both very strong and very weak. A strange kind of national duality. We are strong in the sense of being resilient and survivable. You can throw all manner of challenges at us, and we passively endure. However, as a people, we are weak when we have to make hard decisions and make risky, bold moves.
Pashinyan is the same. He won an election after losing a war, and he is maintained in power despite widespread disapproval of much of what he does. He is very survivable, but he doesn’t have the strength to be proactive. He is a passive survivor with limited agency.
Different talking heads catering to the same elite. No difference, they all work for the interests of the elite and themselves, not the people and the state. Fuck em all
Maybe an oversimplification, but I look at these photos and see 3 criminals and 1 weirdo. Criminals are smart, yet they of course use their potential to enrich themselves. So whatever we can say about them that sounds like praise, didn’t work in our favor.
We are stuck with what we have, every one of the citizens in Armenia is free to come forward and present their ideas and candidacy as alternatives. The bar is extremely low now; don’t have a shady past, have an upper two digit IQ and more importantly present alternative solutions, which can’t be instantly be labeled as total insanity .
There’s nothing… crickets.
Levon primed the country for destruction with his laws and dealings
Kocharyan sold the country based on the laws Levon passed.
Sargsyan continued the established oligarchy and put Armenia in a shittier situation
Pashinyan was given a bad hand, and dealt it horribly, albeit not as bad as it could have gone.

Only during Pashinyan the elections were free and transparent, what the fuck we are talking about.
The rest 3 just fucked up the fundamental rights of people to choose the power.
Pashinyan also does mistakes but so far he is the best one we ever had, even if we lost a war.
It is a war, you can win, or you can loose, or better you don’t start it.
But again, Nikol is the best we had so far. Levon was an intellectual one, but he fucked up 96s election, that’s most criminal thing you can do towards the nation; when people are unable to have free elections then the rest are not important.
