/schimpfen

    1. – Paper launch

      – People realize they don’t need a 5090

      – Demand increase and so does the price people can ask for a 4090

Scalpers will keep the price high for newer cards, but I don’t know why these prices still stand…

    3. For prices to go down on older cards, there needs to be stocks on the new ones.

And you are probably not the only one wanting a 4090 due to poor benchmarks of the 5080. Demand goes up, so do prices.

Also I think the 4090 is no longer produced

    4. Not going to get better.

Nvidia has once again deliberately created an immense supply problem, and people are insane these days and will pay anything for GPUs, especially around launches because FOMO and entirely too much disposable income, I guess.

Frankly dude, I don’t understand how you were even considering 2450 eur for a GPU, but you do you I guess.

Every GPU launch cycle will be like this (and has been like this) because Nvidia has stopped even trying to keep up appearances and AMD and Intel aren’t competing at the high end.

Webshops just follow this and hike prices accordingly. Often multiple times a day.

I mean 5090s have been sold in Germany for up to 6000 euros lol.

    5. Never buy a high-end new computer/gpu when Nvidia is launching new cards. All prices went up in the last weeks, even second hand cards prices rose quickly in the last 2 months. Previous gen cards almost never go down in price when a new gen launches.

Anyway, don’t buy GPU’s of that price range unless you have a real use case for it. It’s a money waste.

    6. They´re not being produced anymore, stocks are low and they use dynamic pricing so they´ll only get more expensive as they sell out. If you settled on a 4090, i´d look for 2nd hand prices. But I´ve seen them go for more than €1700 aswell.

Otherwise just go for a 5080 FE, way cheaper and with a decent overclock it comes close to the 4090, albeit with much lower VRAM.

Alternate is fucking scalping with 5080/9800x3D systems, they are trying to sell them for €4000-5000, more than €2000 over MSRP. so stay away from them. Build your own if you can

      demand is skyrocketing,
      i have a 4090 supreme x,
on second hand market even those prices raise above 2k
      nuts!

    8. When it’s PC parts or concert tickets, it’s called scalpers, when it’s the housing market it’s called landlords.

    9. Tjah

      Tjah

Alternate wil daar zoveel mogelijk winst op pakken.

It’s overpriced af, and that wont change because people are fine to pay such premium.

With NVIDIA it’s always better to buy 1 or 2 gens before. And get AMD (7900XTX) if you don’t want fake frames or other software gimmicks

    11. I am in the same boat arm. My 3070 is pushing it’s limits. I al going tot wait for 5070ti prices and benchmarks. If it sick i might go for a 4080 (super) or a 4070ti super. Stock is super low atm at european retailers because of the bad 5080 benchmarks.

    12. Gpu prices fluctuate immensely. I got a 3070 card right around the release for a decent price. It was more than double the week after.

    13. Pho3nixSlay3r on

You don’t need a 4090 to play Path of Exile 2, i can run it fine on my AMD RX7800

    14. These cards are not going down because they are the last 4090s. People thinking they would go down are delusional.

    15. On top of the supply and demand issues everyone points too they also hiked the price for the 5090 by 300 dollars over its predecessor so they can keep the price of the 4090 high.

These prices are absolutely ridiculous so I would wait…

    16. I’m so happy I got my 4070Ti Super setup done (via alternate) last December. Right before all the 50xx hype but glad I didn’t give into the fomo and just went for it.

    17. RobinVerhulstZ on

Yeahh uhh, im just gonna wait for amd’s 9070XT. Not particularly interested in feeding ngreedias insationable hunger for exorbitant amounts of moolah

    18. This BS has been going on for a while now. If you wanted a new 4090 for a “decent” price you missed the boat. Budget models were usually around 1600-1700 for a while and i have even seen the MSI suprim for 1600 for 1 or 2 days on bol several months ago. I kinda wish i jumped on that one, i was considering it for a moment. My advice is to follow the website Tweakers weekly, even daily. I have been looking at the GPU market very closely for several years now and i have seen prices go up and down like a yoyo.

    19. WhySoFSerious on

I wonder who is raising the prices? Is it alternate, Nvidia or the middle person?

    20. I bought all my parts from them and build mine at home with a friend and ideo tutorials, everything was alright, no problems no complains

      They ship through bpost
