It’s an endurance test, they are tasked with crossing the terrain as fast as they can with all the equipment.
I assume that’s why they aren’t wearing winter camouflage and equipment… but this is such a bullshit thing to call a training. It’s just an endurance test, there’s nothing else going on.
Actual training includes use the of equipment and war games. What they could have done, is an endurance test+ a hide and seek in which groups have to remain hidden and locate each other, or do objectives while trying to remain hidden… night time operations and survival, operating behind enemy lines in high altitude, search and rescue, etc etc. There’s a ton of potential.
But no, why bother using brain cells, let’s just make them do a cardio exercise because it will cost us the least amount of money… you have the terrain, and soldiers with brains there, give them equipment and tasks.
It’s not even good or realistic endurance training, they aren’t wearing the right equipment. What they have on is fine if you have to run for an hour, but you will turn into a popsicle if you wear that at night time during winter. Also if it’s a training what are they supposed to learn here? That you should organize yourselves into straight lines in big groups and cross open terrain as fast as you can without maintaining situational awareness? Someone needs to play the “dumb ways to die” song to the commander. And again if the purpose is to just train endurance, it’s not a training, it’s a cardio exercise, it’s the most basic thing that they should be doing regularly anyway.
Our Army is still dominated by impoverished Soviet mentality where they tried to cut every corner possible to make a soldier as cheap as possible, «Մեր զինվորը դուխով ա… իրան ֆինտիֆլուշկա զենքեր պետք չի:» If you want a good army you have to SPEND good money!

I’m Sorry this doesn’t look like high altitude training, this looks like hiking on a school trip
