Hallo! Ich bin Ausländer, aber ich habe Georgia vier Mal besucht. Ich kenne die Preise, aber warum ist Batumi momentan so billig? Ich habe die Airbnb -Preise überprüft und ein Monat im Orbi ist derzeit 250 $. Warum ist es so billig? Gibt es eine billigere Option? Danke

My brother, with all due respect, it is not cheap, the US dollar is just way stronger than Georgian currency, to you it seems cheap, but to people living there it is not. Same thing in the Czech Republic and Japan
I have the same question. Is it because the city is overbuilt? Of course, it’s not the season and that affects the pricing, but we’re talking hundred of dollars difference with the other cities in the region.
edit: to add, I understand Orbis are cheap boxes to say the least, but it’s not only Orbis that are cheap.
Batumi is anything but cheap.

Batumi become more expensive than before. More and more tourists each year, mainly Russian (it’s just overload) and for consequence, the increasing prices!!!! (French tourist’s opinion)
The amount of people coming there in summer is incomprehensible for human mind, bazillions per each square meter. Now that it’s off season all the infrastructure to support summer demand stays stagnant
The pictured „Orbi“ towers are notoriously awful buildings to live in, that’s why rent is low there. Spend a week in one of them, and you will see even 200$ a month is 200$ too much for those places. They’re tall favelas.
The rest of Batumi isn’t any cheaper than comparable towns.
P.s. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those Tblisi gremlins who have a panic attack when they see a building taller than 3 floors, then talk shit about the city here to cope 😂 My apartment is also in one of the neighboring high rises. It’s just that those specific Orbi buildings are objectively poorly built and managed.
Batumi is overbuilt and has an economy that’s only exists for a few months per year.
I just spent 3 months there in the fall. I won’t go back because it’s more Russian than Georgian. And there is a group of morons doing street racing along the boulevard every night from 19-20:00 to 04-05:00 with all noise suppression removed. So forget sleeping in that area, nothing is being done about it.
Not a place for me, there are much nicer places in Georgia. Kutaisi was excellent the week I spent there.
It’s underrated city because it is one of the cities where you genuinely don’t need car like 99% of the time (assuming you rent in the general area of the picture above), if Batumi university was any good I would just enroll there and enjoy the city lol.

Try to book and when you arrive ,price go for 2times up.
Wait time for the lift about 20-30min in season 😂
