Hallo,

    Danke!

Very seldom winter conditions on the roads in late april on the coast. Maybe for shorter periods in the mountains, but most roads will be clear of any snow by late april.

A few winterclosed high mountain roads will still be closed. Some high-ish areas might see nightly frost, putting down some nasty black ice on the tarmac. All lowland roads will be clear.

And if the season fits (this depends on nightly temperature and can vary quite a bit), you’re coming in the beginning of the fruit flowering season. The south and west-faces of the forests will have anemone flowering. The creeks and rivers will be full of snowmelt. Lowland leaf forests will be sprouting. The high mountains will all have splendid snow caps on. All in all: You picked the right time for a roadtrip!

    3. You can get a bit of everything in april. The climate is milder in the south vs north, by the coast vs inland and lowland vs higher altitude.

While some mountain passes might be winter closed, most roads will be clear for snow.

Yes, I recommend to have winter tires if you are planning to drive towards higher altitude (1000 meters-ish).

    4. This marked path is very odd. I don’t think there’s a road there in the ocean
