This is long overdue. I just want them to be sure and make it as hard sci-fi as possible.

    2. I wonder if they’ll include elements from the sequels. The book is great but>! it doesn’t have a lot of high drama, and the mysteries of the ship are mostly left unanswered. !<

Why doesn’t he just collab with Arthur C. Clarke like Kubrick did and write something original?

visually, it all hangs on just a few seconds of action.

If I DONT get kicked in the chest by acrophobia at the critical moment it’s a fizzer.

I read one of these and it was epic. I hope he gives it the Dune treatment.

I so very much would’ve loved to see Ed Harris play the captain, but I guess he’s too old for that now 😕

Also, when the lights are on, the chorus of conquest of paradise by vangelis is a must. An absolute must !!!

    7. Fuck yeah. Villeneuve is by far the best sci-fi director around now and this is one of my favorite books, I can’t wait to see this on the big screen.

I’m very excited, but the novel is not really a conventional story and has thin characters. By comparison Dune is probably *easier* to adapt, in some ways. The temptation to right a completely different story with the same elements will be strong for hollywood. So I’m not too optimistic.

    9. More than how great a filmmaker he is, I think my favorite thing about Denis is that pretty much every project he does is exactly my taste. I’m interested in the concept of Nolan’s movies like half the time and see them more out of respect for him. Less for Tarantino. Villeneuve keeps choosing projects I want to see adapted though. It’s great.
