***From The Times:***
With Trump back in office and Putin’s war in Ukraine potentially headed towards some kind of endgame, the direction of world affairs seems dependent on how well these two men can get along — or, at the very least, understand each other. What, we are again left wondering, is the real nature of their relationship?
Trump’s unusual approach towards his Russian adversary only encouraged the speculation. Even before the 2016 election, when [Putin](https://www.thetimes.com/topic/vladimir-putin) delivered the back-handed compliment that Trump was “a very colourful person” — which in Russian implies a certain theatrical flamboyance — the future US president replied that it was a “great honour” to be praised by a man “so highly respected within his own country and beyond”.
The pair have met five times in person. At their first meeting in Germany, Trump took his interpreter’s notes and told him not to disclose what he had heard. At the dinner that followed, Trump pulled up a chair next to Putin to engage him in a private conversation.

I’d love to know what incriminating evidence Putin has over Trump. There has to be a reason that Trump kisses Putin’s ass on the regular.
