    1. You can clean your filter using the vacuum cleaner (I do it every 3 months) so that it works better 🙂

This has nothing to do with the outside air quality.

You disperse a ton of small pieces of clothes, human skin and kitchen fat in the air of your own appartment. Your air filter caught all of that.

By the way, did it help with hayfever ?

    3. Most of it is your dead skin cells. I suggest cleaning or changing it more often.

Is this a levoit filter? If so, where do you buy them? I have to get mine from eBay or Amazon which is annoying

    5. Few relevant things:

      – You should inspect and clean or replace air filters way more often, 3 months at max.

      – Although air quality is relevant, much of the dust is created from dead skin cells, lost hair and cloth debris, especially if you have animals. Even a perfectly filtered Minergie ventilation system can’t help with that.

      – Yes, your lungs get the same, but they have a very good self cleaning ability, unless you ruin it e.g. with smoking.

TLDR: this is real, but not as bad as you might believe.

    6. You should remove the filter and clean the exterior side it with your vacuum every 1 or 2 month.

Xiaomi air purifier, got the same, clean it every 3 months with your vacuum cleaner. Put aluminum foil over the rfid tag if you got errors.

    8. I’m running airfilters since 2011 (back then you could barely get any in Switzerland, because the usual shops that nowadays have 100 models had 0) and what you have there seems like *a lot* for 1 year.

I never had any of my filters clogged nearly as much as yours from the picture, and I had occasions when I changed them after 2 years, not 1 year.

Also keep in mind: this is a *fine dust* filter, not a *dust* filter. So it’s purpose is to filter fine dust that is invisible to the eye, not dust that you can see. You still need to vacuum your flat. (Not insinuating that you don’t.)

We have two devices from Winix, they work really good. Also equipped with a plasma light to kill some „things“
