Hallo zusammen, ich bin gerade in eine neue Wohnung gezogen und nachdem ich einige Tage lang das Gefühl hatte, in der Wohnung Gas zu riechen, habe ich den Vermieter gebeten, dies zu überprüfen. Sie schickten einen Techniker zur Überprüfung und er bestätigte, dass alles in Ordnung sei. Ich war jedoch überrascht, dass ich das Gas riechen konnte, bis ich sah, dass sich in diesem Ding buchstäblich ein Loch mit Flammen befand, das das Wasser erwärmte, und ich bekam große Angst. Hat sonst noch jemand dieses System? Ehrlich gesagt fühlt es sich sehr unsicher an. Ich bin vor fünf Tagen eingezogen und überlege jetzt noch einmal, ob ich hier bleiben soll. Da ich jedoch einen 12-Monats-Vertrag unterschrieben habe, geht es mir nicht gut. Ich habe das noch nie zuvor gesehen und konnte es daher nicht vorhersehen, als ich die Wohnung zum ersten Mal sah.

Its normal and safe
As long as you can see a flame while it‘s running, it‘s safe.
That’s how a gas heater works dude. No idea what you’re expecting it to be like?
This hole is especially for this reason..to be able to see the flame and making sure it actually works.
When you had an technician on site for making sure the gas lines are not leaking, you can relax.

The flame shows you that it is safe! The dangerous situation would be if there was a gas leak without a flame, because then the gas could fill the room up to a concentration that becomes explosive. As long as there is a flame, any „leaking“ gas near the flame would just burn off.
