There’s just something cool about seeing something for yourself! The very cheap telescope I got as a birthday present a couple of years ago showed me Jupiter as a large dot with a string of even tinier dots for the moons.
It reignited my fascination with astronomy and quickly led to me getting a 10” Dobsonian telescope and a steadily growing collection of eyepieces.
A reasonable telescope is actually much cheaper than most people realise. If you’re interested, look for a specialist store in your area. You can get attachments to mount your smartphone on the telescope as well. You don’t have to have thousands of dollars spare to get started.
What lens did you use? Or if it’s a fixed lens camera, what are its specs?
On the SKY PORTAL app you can enter the date/time and find out the position of the moons to compare to your photo.

The first time I saw Jupiter + moons through a telescope, I literally cried because it was just so awe-inspiring and beautiful. Space is so vast yet we made artificial eyes just to experience it.
