There is high humidity inside your car. That condensates on windows and freezes.
Make sure not to bring snow in the car. Clean shoes and clothes from snow when entering the car. Have rubber mats on the floor and clean them from wet and snow.
Do not keep air recirculation on, because then all moisture accumulates inside the car.

That another link is good. But sometimes you just can’t avoid it.
You just bring in snow(water) and weather is going from plus and raining to suddenly frozen.
I drive when cold last few km window a little open to get moist away. It little helps.
And warming up the car good that car is dry inside.

Clean your boots from snow when entering the vehicle and get a bag of silicate cat litter, also keep the AC on even when heating the cabin.

Well this could happen in many other countries too lol. There’s humidity in thy automobile. Direct warm air into the windshield from AC

Because you have -16°C (and heating not working – Had the same issue with my Volkkari back ages ago. Had to scrape every 15 seconds – Yes, inside)

If this is during driving, you need to set the air system to the defrost setring, so that it blows the warm air against the window, not towards the driver.

Sounds like they installed the windshield inside out. May want to go get that checked at the dealership.

Moisture inside, you most likely bring snow on shoes that melt, so try shaking snow from your shoes before getting into a car.

As others have said, this is mainly due to the moisture inside and the windshield being cold, the moisture will condence on the cold surface and then it will turn to ice.
If this happens during the drive, check that the air handling settings are correct (if it’s manual selection, the direction selector should be pointed at the window icon) and turned up sufficiently, lowest power isn’t usually sufficient, especially when starting the ride. If the air con is somekind of electronic or „automatic“, they usually still have some button to direct the air to windows.
And also as others have said, using AC will help to reduce the moisture quicker.

Welcome to finland. There can be weather that your inside car going to be like mist and some day outside rain just freezes the windshield.

Take a nylon stocking and fill it with cat sand, keep it on the front seat and it will absorb the humidity and you will have clear windshields for the winter

There was moisture inside when you exited the vehicle last time and then the weather got colder. It happens sometimes.
