Ein 79-jähriger Mann prallte mit seinem Auto auf dem Samstagmorgenmarkt in Zabbar gegen mehrere Personen und Verkaufsstände. Vorläufigen Berichten zufolge handelte es sich um einen Unfall, da der Mann das Gaspedal statt der Kupplung oder Bremse betätigte. 11 Personen wurden nach dem Vorfall ins Krankenhaus gebracht. Ihr Zustand ist noch nicht bekannt. Gesundheitsminister Jo Etienne Abela bestätigte, dass sich acht davon in einem stabilen Zustand befinden. Zuvor hatte ein Polizeisprecher den Medien mitgeteilt, dass sechs Personen verletzt worden seien. Der Zabbar-Platz war voller Menschen, da dies normalerweise eine geschäftige Zeit in der Stadt ist. Aufnahmen vom Tatort zeigen große Mengen Trümmer und kaputte Ställe."

Anyone over the age of 70 that aren’t able to complete a yearly cognitive and responsiveness test should be barred from driving period.
there should be an age limit without any exceptions. 65 is the max. age for commercial pilots. 70 is fair enough for a car.
Cars simply do not belong where there are crowds of people. But Malta still doesn’t seem to get it. It’s a complete jungle.
