    Gibt es in Deutschland einen Menschen, der wie ein Meme bekannt wurde, obwohl er vorher unbekannt war?


    Hallo zusammen!

    Gibt es ähnliche Fälle in Deutschland? Also jemand, der durch ein virales Video oder einen besonderen Moment von einem Tag auf den anderen berühmt wurde, obwohl dieser Mensch zuvor ein völliger „Niemand“ war? Es wäre interessant, mehr über solche Beispiele zu erfahren!

    Ich bin Brasilianerin und wir haben eine Frau namens Inês Brasil, die vor ein paar Jahren durch ein virales Video berühmt wurde. Ursprünglich war sie völlig unbekannt, aber ihr exzentrisches Verhalten und ihr exzentrisches Aussehen haben sie zu einem festen Bestandteil der brasilianischen Meme-Kultur gemacht.

    Dieses Video, in dem sie Deutsch spricht, ist bei brasilianischen Deutschstudenten sehr beliebt. Sie ist die schwarze Frau.

      I’m not sure about people becoming fixtures in meme-culture, but there are quite a few examples of people from viral videos that pretty much everyone in the younger generations knows. The first that come to mind would be „was ist denn mit Karsten los?“ or „Kranplätze müssen verdichtet werden“. Old but gold would be Angry German Kid, who became known even outside of Germany.

      Matthias Rust or Conrad Schumann.

      Now maybe forgotten, famous back then for landing on the red square during the Cold War or jumping the wall when it was built.

      Don’t forget Jürgen and Zlatko (big brother 1).

      So many people who ended up in Stefan Raab’s TV show TV Total 20 years ago when this show was huge. A big part of his show was presenting clips from other TV shows, e.g. local news or interviews with common people or talk shows and making fun of them. He then had buttons on his desks which played those short clips out of context. They were used like memes in todays internet before the term meme was known. Everyone knew those clips back then. See also the Maschendrahtzaun comment here. It’s probably the most famous and most succesful of those clips.

      People popularized by Spiegel TV: Penny(Customers) an der Reeperbahn, die Ritters, Anzeigenhauptmeister, etc.

      Not sure I’d say they’re cultural fixtures but certainly within younger demographics.

      Angry German Kid … he was an early misunderstood YT comedian and his video of him destroying his keyboard shouting he wants to play was actually staged, but everyone thought it was real and gave him a very hard time. Years later, a documentary (also watchable on YT) was made about him and the trauma of his rise to fame.

      Cold Mirror’s Harry Potter abridged (in German) and all the Fresh Dumbledore rap tracks.
