Meta is planning to use nuclear power to fuel its data centers in the USA, aiming to add 1-4 gigawatts of nuclear energy starting in the early 2030s.

Is this the only way that we’re going to get nuclear power?
So, I personally think nuclear is a good idea, but this is a choice we should make as a society.
It’s positively dystopian that some predatory megacorp gets to decide by itself that nuclear is back because they want to push a bunch of manipulative AI junk that’s designed to sell more ads and separate us from our money.
That, by the way, is also a choice we should make as a society. But I suppose that’s not an option in the land of the meek and the home of the wage slave.
