    1. Submission Statement

Annual global solar manufacturing capacity is at 1.1 TW, and that could be higher if financing was unlocked to allow the Global South to decarbonize quicker. There was some progress towards that goal at COP29 in Baku.

The [40% rooftop solar figure](https://environmentamerica.org/updates/solar-power-exceeds-2-tw-of-capacity-worldwide/?pg=126#:~:text=According%20to%20new%20data%20from,to%2040%20percent%20on%20rooftops.) points to one of the most hopeful of 21st century trends – decentralization. Microgrids and local generation may come to be the dominant technological paradigm in 21st century energy.

Tied to decentralization in robotics, 3D printing, and localized AI – this may kill the worst doomer nightmares of all-powerful centralized authoritarian corpo-states ruling us all like feudal serfs.

    2. I have rooftop solar, but it’s the „sell it to the grid“ kind, not the „use it myself“ kind.

    3. At the same time, utility scale solar has outgrown the overall solar market in many nations

this is not a micro vs macro grid

Worked in residential solar, hated it, crap pay and dangerous work , do not recommend to anyone

    5. When governments are failing to invest in it, and power companies constantly increase costs. It’s the average person saying Naw fuck that, that is starting to move the pendulum. 🤣

Wasn’t there a power company that was throwing a fit and saying they should still be able to charge people with solar something. I think I recall reading about that.

Please correct me if I’m wrong. It’s normal for me
