      I will never forget meeting someone from that diaspora. I was a teenager working in Greece and heard someone talking in what I thought was Bulgarian. So after a short conversation with that older gentleman, I was left with the knowledge that Bulgarians are actually mongols and gypsies, which as someone from Bulgaria was shocking to me. I was also young so I had never heard about any of that before, I always thought Macedonia and Bulgaria were brother/sister nations. He was jokingly, but not really, saying very VERY hateful stuff to my face and laughing about it.

      Incredibly toxic first encounter that I will remember for the rest of my days.
