Geee this sounds EXACTLY why the Fed put out a warning about them.

Is UltraAV just Kaspersky under a new name to circumvent federal restrictions on the company?

You either die an antivirus or live long enough to become a virus.

„Not much is known“.
That’s exactly what you want to hear about a security software vendor whose products require priviledged access to your computer.
Also, they own multiple VPN brands and run a VPN review site? Oh, I’m sure they’re unbiased in their reviews and are definitely not up to anything sketchy.

With a name like „ultra“, you know it has to be good. Love those yanks. In order to protect you, I take away your choice. Democracy, baby. I used kav for years and it wasn’t bad though I never really had any reason for it to do anything but sit on my computer. Then it got crazy expensive and went to bitdefender. It too hasn’t saved me from anything cause I guess so far I haven’t been unlucky or whatever. When that expires, I guess it’s defender for me. BD is awfully bloated.

Imagine using a Russian antivirus

I bought Kaspersky years ago when it was consistently rated above most other antivirus software. It has always worked reliably for me on all my devices. I am in the U.S. and it is up and running on this machine now. No sign of UltraAV being installed.
