And why doesn’t this surprise me?

While I despised Ivanishvili’s statement, I’d put more than a bit of skepticism on info that comes out of US intelligence agencies without detailed proof being presented.

Where do you see a proof in this statement, or do you take word of some random politicians as a fact

This is what I found:
> „We have information that Ivanishvili undertook actions to develop relations with Russian oligarchs, took actions to enable Russia to gain better access to the Georgian market. In fact, he, took some actions at the direction of the Russian intelligence services,” a senior U.S. official told VOA’s Georgian service on the condition of anonymity, given the sensitivity of discussing the sanctions.
Basically, an „official“ said this anonymously, which means that it might have been as well as made up, hence there is no proof at all.
The author of this article is Ani Chkhikvadze, who clearly hates GD from looking at her other publishments.
This post serves no purpose other than further glorifying a personal agenda.
