Bei norwegischen Produkten bin ich etwas ratlos. Was denkst du über diese beiden? Vor allem verstehe ich nicht, was Sauce Hollandaise ist, und 17% Butter dort sieht suspekt aus.

The first product, melange, is a mostly plant oil based butter substitute, intended for cooking. It also comes in a block, looking similar to butter.
Hollandaise is a traditional sauce of French origin: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hollandaise_sauce](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hollandaise_sauce) In Norway it is often used with fish. I have never seen this 1L carton though.

Melange is used as replacement for butter when cooking, its made with Rapeseed oil and a few more additions (there are some variations that contain a small percentage of butter).
Hollandaise sauce is something entirely different, its a type of sauce made with eggs, butter and lemon, commonly eaten with eggs benedict or in germany its eaten together with asparagus during the season.

Melange is very popular for cooking. Though I’ve never been a fan, I prefer to actually use butter.
Hollandaise is one of the five french mother sauces. Packet looks fancy so I guess it’s passable/ok, at least when considering it’s store bought.

Adding some crucial information about Melange, since no one has specified it yet: Melange is a brand of margarine.

Regular butter is „meierismør“. Most common brand is Tine, found at Extra, Coop, REMA etc. in blocks. You usually have two options, salted (golden one) or „usaltet“, unsalted (silver one). Melange is more for baking, can be bought in blocks as well and it combines vegetable oils.

Why are these two items being compared? What am I missing? One is a sauce, the other is a liquid margarine.
