Submission Statement: According to this article, AI companies, eg. OpenAI and Anthropic, are running out of training data for LLM’s. Along with the apparent death of Moore’s Law approaching soon, which will mean computers will need to be bigger and bigger, and thus require more and more energy, we could very well be heading for a brick wall in terms of AI growth / progress.
SO, conspiracy time – or at least long term vision. Did Elon buy Twitter for the data to Train AI?
Reddit already sells it off, Facebook uses it for itself… What other brands have that volume of quality data? Other than Gmail/Outlook – which is more 1on1 vs many having discussions about a topic. Discord might be another big one
Why would you need that much data? You’re supposed make progress.
