    1. How do I put it … That show ain’t German and the subtitles may give you a hint from where it is. What they speak is as German as „Die, Bart! Die!

      In case you aren’t, you’ve stumbled on to a Finnish tv comedy classic series from the 1990s, Studio Julmahuvi. It consisted of a group of young actors spoofing different tv genres and cliches, like the (for the Finnish audience) very familiar German Krimi format. Here the “plot” concerns the disappearance of the real life Finnish ski jumper Ari-Pekka Nikkola. The detectives repeat school book German phrases like “Sind Sie AP Nikkola?”

      And yes, it was a very fun show.
