The pattern on the roof in the back reminds me of the Stephansdom in vienna

Literally any, with at least 2 temple towers. The list of possible candidates is too long.

    4. I would guess that this is some creative collection that is supposed to resemble different german styles without specifically showing any buildings

Pretty sure it’s Lübeck before 1934.
In the Background could be the Lübecker Dom (seen from the backside), the tower in the middle is likely St. Petri zu Lübeck, The gate could be a highly stylized Burgtor and the fountain is the Marktbrunnen, that was demolished in 1934. The building on the left – maybe the old Rathaus?

      This is Basel – Swizzerland.

Spalentor – the gate front right.
      Basler Brunnen – the fountain.
Rathaus – Municipality the towered building in the second line
Basler Münster – Cathedral in the background.
