  1. Oh that photo is adorable. I loved seeing him in the stands keeping score.

  2. wannabe-house-spouse on

Fuck yeah if I won gold medals, I’d be letting my whole family wear them

  3. Exciting_Calves on

Let’s just celebrate this incredible athlete being the most accomplished gymnast of all time! 🥇

  4. This is one of those ridiculous things that is best ignored. Don’t give the haters attention, that’s what they want. No defense is needed.

She didn’t *defend* him because she didn’t *need* to. She, quite appropriately, told the trolls to mind their own fucking business and I am HERE FOR IT.

I dream of a world where people just live and let others do the same. Humans have become (have always been?) this overly judgey species. If it does not physically or mentally harm you in some awful manner- mind your own business. And if it does harm you- instead of harassing the person(s) turn away and again- mind your own business.

  7. How dare she share her victory with the person who supported her throughout her journey! /s

Fucking weirdos! She won gold for the USA, this should make you happy MAGA freaks.

Simone won that medal with her skill and hard work. But I’m sure having the love and support of her husband certainly didn’t hurt her chances. Like many couples, they probably share in each others achievements. In this case, a gold fucking Olympic medal

Man people are so concerned and offended by what others do that affects literally no one other than themselves. Get a hobby lmao

What a ridiculous article to write as if this is important news

I wish more celebrities and athletes would do away with the justifications and what not and just tell people to fuck off.

They’re people too. If you watch follow them, fine, they can be your idol. They aren’t asking for it.

Can you imagine how empty your life must be to be bothered by something like this?

I feel like things are to the point where this poor woman has to defend what she buys at the grocery store. Leave her alone, internet

  15. splagentjonson on

If I had that many gold medals I’d be using them for coasters, let alone be funny about someone else wearing it

  16. 1010goodnight on

Every time I see a reel or post on Instagram of Simone and her husband, almost all the comments are about how her husband is untrustworthy, fame seeking, not into her, etc.

I thought I was out of the loop and there must be some shady past about him, (especially because they seem like such a loving couple), but the more I see comments about it on Reddit, the more I realize it’s a completely fake and made up narrative by haters. It blows my mind.

I truly hope Simone has a support system that shows her how the majority of the U.S. and world feels about her, because I Love her and am so amazingly proud of how strong she is, she’s the best role.model and she deserves nothing but the best

It has been taboo for anyone other than the awarded athlete to wear an olympic medal. Not saying it’s a great unwritten rule, but it’s one that’s been followed (mostly) for over a century of competition.

I’ve seen quite a few athletes share their joy this Olympics by draping their medals around their parents‘ necks, and I think it’s totally appropriate! Each athlete relies on a support network to get where they are.

  19. Youbunchadorks on

Wait, why would it matter if he wore it? People getting outraged about things that have nothing to do with them is pathetic.

  20. PreemptiveFez on

How petty. I’d imagine if I won a gold medal that would be just as much a victory for my friends and family who supported me through it all. They all deserve gold.

  21. QuantumSasuage on

„Defends“ … like she has to defend herself against anything.

The people who write this kind of shite should be locked away in dungeons.

  22. cyclingnutla on

They’re her medals. If she wants to let her dog wear them I’m ok with it. GOAT can do whatever GOAT wants to do IMO.

  23. pocketMagician on

Yeah fuck off, what I do with my Olympic medals is my business (if I had any!).

  24. We_The_Raptors on

You don’t wanna see her share medals maybe y’all should beat her in the olympics instead of crying about it online

  25. Yet no one goes after the NHLers who let their friends and family hoist the cup. Fuck these dumb people telling her this.

  26. When he played for Green Bay she was always around the facility supporting him and wearing the green and gold. They both seem genuinely happy for each other and even though he was only a back up safety, I was pretty sad when they left (yes, I’m saying they as in the two of them). I loved seeing the photos of them or her being together/supporting him.

Good god, what even is enough to do, for people to leave you alone, rather than sink to increasingly unimaginative, tenuous culture war plots?

  28. She earned them she can do what she wants with them except get rid of them by selling them. I’d use them as super fancy drink coasters when people I hate come over

  29. Frostsorrow on

Sammy Jo Small came and talked to my school (elementary) since she had previously attended and had been coached by the principal, she let everyone that wanted to to touch or hold her gold medal.

  30. InourbtwotamI on

It’s her medal, she can give it to whoever she wants! She’s earned enough for her whole family to wear one!

  31. Rosililly27 on

What a stupid polemic. Those medals are hers and she can do whatever she wants

  32. They are hyper critical of her because of who she is. Lets be real. F these people.

  33. Casanova_Fran on

I swear she was married to Bronny James lol

Why do they hate this guy so much? Seems like a supportive dude.

  34. Hour-Yak283 on

It’s her medal. If you don’t like what she does with it go win your own.

    What is wrong with people?

  35. RattyDaddyBraddy on

This is like getting mad at someone letting his wife/parents/siblings/friends lift the Stanley Cup after his team won the finals. It happens all the time, and is actually encouraged.

  36. A NFL team owner let putin put on the championship ring ( and putin took it ) isn’t that sport more sacred to America than any another sport ? Where was the outrage about that ?

  37. Meanwhile, the prized Stanley Cup of the NHL has been: shit in, pissed in, used as a beer mug, a dog bowl, and even used to baptize a man’s daughter.
