Hallo Leute !
Ich bin relativ neu in Deutschland (seit Oktober 2023 hier) und seit ich einen SIM-Vertrag mit Vodafone abgeschlossen habe, bekomme ich ständig zufällige Textnachrichten von Fremden (ein- oder zweimal alle zwei Monate), in denen ich gebeten werde, ihnen eine Nachricht an ihre WhatsApp-Nummer zu senden, was absolut lächerlich ist! (das sind zufällig auch Nummern, die mit +49 beginnen)
Ich füge eine Art von Nachricht an, die ich bekomme, und ein wenig mehr Kontext: Ich kenne sicherlich kein Kind, dessen biologischer Vater ich bin 😅
Ich ignoriere solche Nachrichten immer, aber in letzter Zeit hat die Häufigkeit solcher Nachrichten zugenommen! Kann mir jemand sagen, was hier genau vor sich geht und ob jemand schon einmal in einer ähnlichen Situation war?

Yes. Scam. You reply and will be asked for money sometime soon for various excuses.
Yes. Known scam.
Scam. Next they will ask for a couple of hundreds sent to a bank account because they lost their phone, or the car broke down, or they need money for something police related.
I can’t count how many kids I apparently have by now counting on those messages.
My own parents not fall for this SCAM as they know me and my siblings not expect them to know how to save a number.

That’s the international code for Germany.
But yes, it’s a scam. If you answer it, they know you believe they really are your child, and will then give you some sob story about how they need a lot of cash RIGHT NOW for some emergency.
It’s easy and cheap to send out thousands of these messages all the time. Most people won’t fall for it, but if only one person bites, they can still make a profit.
Yes, It’s a common scam. Don’t bother with those and just ignore.
