Ich habe diesen Vermieter um eine Besichtigung gebeten und gleich das erste große Warnsignal kam: Sie sind dafür nicht verfügbar. Ich möchte jedoch noch genauer nachfragen, um mich selbst davon zu überzeugen, dass es sich nicht um Betrug handelt. Was kann ich hier genauer erklären?

    2. Your gut, unfortunately, seems to be spot on. This is scam, with the goal of getting people’s ID to then use them to make other scams seem more credible.

      Please read the Wiki articles linked, particularly the second one.

      This particular one has showed up a few times lately. They link to a fake „agency“ where you can skip a queue for viewing the flat by paying money, and where the flat is given to the first person who views and wants it (which is hilariously not how it works).

      Trying to find evidence why something you recognise as a scam *isn’t* a scam is what gets people scammed.
