Hallo,
Ich möchte eine Fahrt von Bayern nach Hamburg und zurück planen. Die Verbindungen die ich gefunden habe sind in der Regel zwei ICE mit 6 Minuten Abstand. Das Angebot ist durch den Super Sparpreis attraktiv.
Ich bin nicht sicher, ob 6 Minuten wirklich ausreichen würden, damit der erste ICE bei beiden Fahrten pünktlich sein Ziel erreicht.
Wie gehe ich im Allgemeinen mit solchen Risiken um? Und was wäre die beste Vorgehensweise, wenn ich den zweiten ICE wegen der Verspätung des ersten verpasse? (Der nächste ICE würde bei derselben Verbindung wohl erst in zwei Stunden kommen, also geht im Grunde ein Tag verloren zwischen den 6 Stunden, die ich brauche, um Hamburg zu erreichen, und den 2 zusätzlichen Stunden Wartezeit…)

To be able to evaluate that connection, it‘s important where you connect and which trains you are taking.
Generally speaking though: 6 minutes is really tight.
6 minutes is a bit optimistic but keep in mind the 2nd train could be delayed as well 😅 just happened to us last week, where we miraculously got our connection because both trains had more or less the same delay.
anyway, if you miss it, you can take any train to your destination. pro tipp: if its becoming obvious that you will miss the connection, get a seat reservation in the new train, because you wont be the only one having to take the later train
The train will be probably late so those 6 minutes will tun into 1-2 minutes. What’s good’s good is that you still can go with a next tan if you miss you connection due to the first train being late.
In bahn.com, add the option to search for a layover of minimum 20 minutes or whatever you’re comfortable with. If you lose the trains nothing happens as you can take whatever train to your destination after that, but it is a pain especially if you lose a seat reservation and the compensation is not very good (a percentage of the ticket), so I prefer to take generous combinations especially for late trains
And 6 minutes.. even if trains were on time, the only station where I’d be comfortable doing that is Frankfurt (Main) Flughafen, as most connections are just waiting on the same platform (either the same track or the parallel)
I wouldn’t do it, 6 minutes is very stressful even if there’s no delay especially if you need to find the other train on a big station like München or Nürnberg. Can you share the whole route though? I can’t imagine why you would need 2 ICEs from Bayern to Hamburg.
