Gestern Abend bin ich mit meinem Bruder mit dem IR36 von Basel SBB nach Zürich gefahren und habe meinen verschlossenen Trolley in der Gepäckabteilung hinter mir verstaut und irgendwie wurde er beim ersten Halt in Rheinfelden AG gestohlen. Ich habe die Polizei und die SBB in Zürich benachrichtigt, als ich davon erfahren habe, und bin sogar mit einem UBER zum Standort in Rheinfelden gefahren, aber die Polizei konnte nicht weitermachen, weil das Haus ein Privatgrundstück war und ich näher heran musste, um einen Ton auf meinem AirTag abzuspielen. Mein MacBook war auch im Trolley und anscheinend ist es jetzt irgendwo in Basel nahe der deutschen Grenze, was bedeutet, dass das Trolleyschloss geöffnet wurde. Gibt es sonst noch etwas, das ich tun sollte?

go ring the doorbell, play the airtag when door is open, don’t go alone, record video for proof and safety.
File charges with police and send it to your insurance. Send the insurance a list of what was in the suitcase so they can reimburse you.
Hey man I got a similar case in Italy. I just simply rang at the house and asked: have you found a MacBook somewhere? The guy just gave it to me and said he found it. We both played fools and he did not appear like a stealer and I did not appear like I wanted to call the police. Got my MacBook back.
Update: it’s somewhere in the Basel Stadt police station apparently (Clarahofweg 27, 4058 Basel). Hopefully someone took it by mistake and handed it in
