      Either trapped air that is forced out by rising water

      Or

      Trolls who signal that they are hungry.

      Yeah, thinking it’s a good idea standing on it. The next second „I can flyyyyyy…..“

      Rapidly rising water level pushes the air out with a force enough to move the manhole covers.

      Usually this happens with HARD rainfall at higher grounds.

      And when the trolls are hungry.
